The story of Waldo’s

Waldo's Rescue Pen is a non-profit organization with a strong commitment to rescuing and providing care for dogs of all ages and breeds that have been abandoned, abused, or left homeless.

Waldo's was founded in September 2020 by Emily Anne Dyson. The inspiration for the organization came from Emily's late aunt, Rose Mary, who was a free-spirited woman and an animal lover. Rose Mary’s own pets, Waldo and Penelope, played a significant role in shaping Emily's passion for animals and led to the establishment of Waldo's Rescue Pen.

As a foster-based rescue, Waldo's operates with a hub in New York, NY, and collaborates with various organizations across the United States, Korea and Puerto Rico. This partnership network allows them to reach and save more animals in need, extending their reach and impact.

The primary goal of Waldo's Rescue Pen is to provide these rescued animals with the love, care, and attention they deserve. By placing them in foster homes, they can experience a nurturing environment while awaiting adoption into permanent, loving families. This approach ensures that the rescued dogs are given the best chance at finding a forever home and experiencing a happy, healthy life.

The success of Waldo's Rescue Pen is dependent on the collective efforts of dedicated fosters, volunteers, donors, and sponsors. Fosters play a crucial role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for the rescued dogs, while volunteers generously contribute their time and skills to various tasks within the organization. Additionally, the generosity of donors and sponsors allows Waldo's to cover medical expenses, food, and other necessities to support the well-being of the rescued animals.

By combining the passion, commitment, and support of its community, Waldo's Rescue Pen continues to make a significant difference in the lives of animals and works towards a future where no animal is left abandoned or neglected.
